Everyone knows Santa is a jolly old elf. He’s definitely not pint sized. So you don’t usually think of purchasing child Santa suits. But there are times when you just can’t find anything cuter!
Think about the holiday Christmas pageant at church or school. When the children are creating a drama or doing a skit, if Santa Claus is a part of that skit, you’re really going to need child Santa suits. It wouldn’t look right to have an adult playing the part of Santa and towering high above all the other kids.
For the grand finale at the pageant, it would also be absolutely adorable to have all the kids dressed in child Santa suits. Can you see an entire chorus of little Santas on stage singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas?” Priceless!
Similarly, if you have children, buying child Santa suits for your kids and having them all outfitted in their costumes for a portrait would make a really sweet Christmas card. Actually, whether you have one child or a dozen, dressing junior up in a child size Santa suit would be unique and memorable. No one else will have a Christmas card just like yours!
Granted, you may not get as much use out of child Santa suits as some other items of clothing you might purchase. But there are ways you can extend the usefulness of your purchase. And you can have your child wear it on multiple occasions to get a bigger bang for your buck.
After the family portrait is taken for the holiday card, and after your child appears as Santa in the Christmas play, why not let your child wear his child Santa suit to hang out with you at the local mall or department store and help ring the bell for the Salvation Army red kettle bell ringing campaign?
Your child could also make special appearances as a little Santa at the nursing homes in your area to cheer up the residents. Think of the smiles you’ll put on their faces!
If your child wants to, you could let him wear his child Santa suit to Grandma and Grandpa’s house on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, too-just for fun! Let him help pass out the presents and get lots of snapshots! These memories will last forever.
Finally, ten months later if your child’s Santa suit still fits, he could wear it for Halloween! Everyone is always looking for unique costume ideas and you never know-he could just win a Halloween costume contest for having one of the most unique and creative costumes. In any event, if your child loves his costume, it can save you the expense of buying another costume for Halloween, too! Why not let it do double-or triple-duty.
If it’s truly unlikely that your child Santa suits will fit the kids the following season, I highly recommend just letting them keep them out and play in them to their hearts’ desire. All children love playing dress up and doing imaginary skits with their siblings, cousins, and friends.
Your children could have fun with creative play all year long-or until they outgrow their child Santa suits. And the photo opportunities this will create for you all year long could very well help create the image you decide to use on your Christmas card for the following year!
